Pasta with Pesto

Starchy Foods

These are foods that are rich in starch, which is a type of carbohydrate. When we eat starchy foods, our digestive system breaks down the starch into carbohydrates, which our body uses for energy.

Fruit and Granola

Dietary Fibre

Dietary fibre helps the digestive system to move food through the intestines and pushes the waste material out of the body.

There are many foods that are high in fibre, including; fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains. Other high-fibre foods include flax seeds, chia seeds, apples, bananas, broccoli, carrots, beans, lentils.

Grilled Beef

Protein

Protein is a macronutrient that we need for growth, repair and maintenance in the body, especially for bones and muscles. You can get a lot of protein from foods such as; eggs, tofu, tuna, lentils , beef.

Pile of Donuts

Sugars

Sugars can come in different forms. They can be naturally occurring in food like fruit, or they can be added and used as an ingredient in different foods and drinks. You can get an idea of whether a food is high in free sugars by looking at the ingredients list on the packaging. Aiming to reduce your sugar intake is key to keeping a healthy balanced lifestyle.

Avocado

Fats

Fats are an important part of a healthy, balanced diet. We need some fat in our diets. However, some fats are better for you than others.

Good fats: Nuts, Almonds, Cashews, Peanuts, Pecans and Avocado.

Bad fats: Palm oil, Deep fried food, Cakes, Muffins etc.

Pink Himalayan Salt

Vitamins & Minerals

Vitamins and minerals are micronutrients required by the body in small amounts, in order for the body to work properly and healthily. Most vitamins and minerals cannot be made by the body, so need to be provided in the diet.

Health Tips

Some advice to help you stay fit and healthy:

Stay hydrated. Add electrolytes to your water

Sunlight exposure on the body (Vitamin-D) between 7am-9am provides the most benefits

Aim for cold showers 30 seconds a day to keep the doctor away. Sleeping in an ice cold room will boost your metabolism, helps improve your quality of sleep and reduces stress levels.

Sauna & Ice plunge will; improve circulation, reduce your joint pain, increase your energy levels, improve your immunity to illness and improve your overall health.

Aim for 7-10 hours sleep a night.

Exercise and move your body.

Limit your alcohol intake and avoid seed oils, turn to raw butter and extra virgin oil.

Supplements

  • Take collagen type 2 to support skin, hair, nails, joints and muscles.

  • Fish oil omega 3 to support heart health and eyes.

  • Colostrum Powder to help reduce fat, improve gut health, prevent intestinal permeability, help acne prone skin.

My top choice warm drink to go to is Moringa Powder

I drink it on an empty stomach, with fresh ginger and lemon added in. The results are fantastic once you stay consistent. Here is some additional information:

Moringa is a plant native to India and other countries, it contains proteins, vitamins, and minerals, making it useful to fight a variety of health conditions. Moringa helps with inflammation, it reduces cholesterol levels, and blood glucose. However, this should not be used to replace medications and people who have health conditions should definitely consult their doctor before usage.

If you decide to start using Moringa, then welcome your new obsession!

Remember to always listen to your body and what works for you might not work for another person, always seek medical advice before taking any new form of supplements into your diet.
